Snapdragon 8 generation 3 chip is going to be introduced this year and now new information about its specifications has been revealed.
Snapdragon 8 generation 3 configuration
According to the information published by a well-known whistleblower called Ice Universe, the Snapdragon 8 generation 3 will have a core configuration of 1+5+2, which will be different from the 1+2+2+3 configuration of the Snapdragon 8 generation 2. This means that more performance cores with a higher frequency will probably be used in this processor, although the exact specifications of these cores are not yet known. The
Ice Universe also claimed that the performance of the Adreno 750 graphics processing unit in Snapdragon 8 generation 3 will be significantly improved, and on the other hand, the L3 cache memory of this chip will increase from 8 MB in the previous generation to 10 MB.
More importantly, Qualcomm apparently intends to keep the power consumption of the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 at the same level as the 2nd generation, which performed very well in this department. In this way, the new chip will provide faster performance without generating more heat.
The introduction of Snapdragon 8 generation 3 is planned for the end of this year and apparently OnePlus is testing it on one of its upcoming phones. Also, according to the rumors, the Galaxy S24 Ultra phone will use the Snapdragon 8 generation 3 in all markets. Undoubtedly, the introduction of this processor will create a big challenge for Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chip. Both the 2nd Gen and 1st Gen Snapdragon 8 chips have proven themselves to be excellent processors so far, so expectations from Samsung have been high. Apple is also likely to raise the standards of the chip industry once again this year with its A17 chip.
It is said that Mediatek also plans to compete with Snapdragon 8 generation 3 with the Dimension 9300 chip. It seems that we will soon see a tough competition in the mobile chip market.
