It seems that WhatsApp is testing a new message editing feature to keep up with its competitors. According to the information that WABetaInfo WhatsApp plans to release this feature in the form of a new update first for beta version users on Android devices. If the tests are successful, the ability to edit messages on WhatsApp will be provided to all users.
WhatsApp beta users running version 184.108.40.206 can access the message editing feature. They can test this feature in group messages in addition to one-on-one chats.
In the published screenshot of this feature, you can see a group chat that allows users to edit a sent message. Users should select the sent message and tap on the three-dot menu in the upper corner and select the last item from the Info, Copy and Edit options.
According to WBI, in the beta version there is no limit to the number of times users can edit a sent message. However, users will be able to edit a message up to 15 minutes after sending the message. Of course, these restrictions may change in the final version.
