There have been many rumors about Samsung’s next foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, and now their launch date has been revealed.
Korean website Chosun Media claims that Samsung will unveil its latest foldable phones by holding its next Unpacked event on July 4 (July 26) in Seoul, South Korea (instead of America). This website writes that the reason for the early introduction of Samsung’s new foldable phones is the weak performance of the company’s semiconductor business, and therefore it is necessary for Samsung’s mobile unit to perform well.
On the other hand, the earlier introduction of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 will create a longer gap between these phones and the iPhone 15 series, which will probably be introduced in September. As a result, Samsung can sell more of its new foldable phones. Of course, the date of August 4th for the introduction of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 is not yet certain.
According to rumors, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will feature a 7.6-inch AMOLED main display and a 6.2-inch AMOLED external display, and both panels will have a 120Hz refresh rate. These screens are brighter than the panels of the previous model and a selfie camera under the screen will be used in Z Fold 5.
The processing work of this foldable phone is probably carried out by the Snapdragon 8 generation 2 chip, along with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512/256 GB and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 internal memory. The cameras on the back of this phone include a 50-megapixel main camera and two 12- and 10-megapixel cameras, and its main camera will support 8K video recording at 30 frames per second.
One of the improvements of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the use of a new hinge mechanism to reduce the crease in the middle of the screen. Also, in this phone, protective cover of Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IPX8 waterproof standard is used.
